Merry Christmas, Chris.
I'm a crusty old "right wing nut job" but I love your blog. You're very erudite and articulate. Your writing is elegant and engaging; always a pleasure to read. Have a great New Year.

The long distance columnist and bloggers road is not an easy one, so good on you Chris for continuing and writing at a standard (no pun etc.) well above that of the perpetually booze addled and stimlulant fried that too often pass for journalists in these parts.

Many humans cope with the dark end that awaits us all via denial, transferrence, living in the moment or even evidence based science. So personally the Large Hadron Collider is more exciting for me than baby Jesus. But thems the breaks in a secular society.
